About L. Michelle Garber

“Life isn’t about expecting, hoping, or wishing. It’s about doing, being, and becoming.”

Have you ever struggled to find the right words to express how you feel, who you are, or what you need from the people in your life? Maybe you’ve replayed a conversation from the day before, wondering what you could have said differently to feel more understood or resolve a conflict. You’re not alone, and reaching out for support through therapy is a courageous and meaningful first step.

If we work together, we will approach therapy as a collaborative partnership. You are the expert on your life, your experiences, your challenges, and your story. My role is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel seen, heard, and supported as we explore what’s most important to you. Together, we will identify your strengths and set small, attainable goals that move you toward the life you want to live. I bring clinical experience, deep empathy, and practical strategies to help you manage what’s hard while creating space for healing, insight, and growth.

I specialize in working with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, chronic stress, low self-esteem, grief and loss, and ADHD. I often support clients facing life transitions, relationship changes, career stress, or experiences of domestic violence. My therapeutic approach draws from evidence-based practices including EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. I work with individuals ages 18 and older.

I received my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Texas San Antonio and believe in the power of connection, compassion, and lifelong learning. Outside of therapy, I love being outdoors and often take my two dogs, Bella and Remy, on hikes and road trips. I also enjoy dancing, trying new recipes, diving into DIY projects, and exploring books, podcasts, and new places both near and far.

If you are ready to begin this journey, I would be honored to walk alongside you.

My favorite way to recharge is…….

Quiet, low-key time with my dogs (cuddle puddle), good matcha, and a show/movie or nature therapy. I recharge best when things are simple, grounding, and unhurried.

A fun fact about me that might surprise you…

Even though I am a therapist and spend my days deeply connected to people, I am protective of my energy and pretty selective about what I consume from TV shows to food to how I structure my time.
