About Lindsey Schmid

I’m so glad you’re here! I understand that looking for a therapist can feel overwhelming and daunting, however I will help ease your mind. I work with adults and teens 16 & older who are experiencing anxiety, depression, low confidence/low self-esteem, and the after-effects of traumatic experiences.

My approach to helping others heal is collaborative, solution-focused, intuitive and gentle, and my style feels grounded and calm, with a touch of relatability. I work from a trauma-informed care lens, honing in on solution-focused efforts. I believe people change when they are ready to heal their inner world (such as self-confidence, self-worth, self-love, etc), which in turn repairs their outer world (think relationships, career, family, etc.).

I specialize in healing trauma through EMDR, which is extremely effective as it eliminates fear, anger, guilt and sleep problems. My approach is different to most therapists because at the core of my personable nature, I care about your results and understand your desire to relieve emotional distress and pain. I embody a holistic approach in learning about my clients and how we can collaborate towards healing.

In our first session of working together, I am listening to your history, your triggers, what excites you and most importantly, what is causing you the most suffering. Depending on your need, I will provide real-time calming tools after just the first session. Together, we decide on a path forward to meeting your goals within our therapeutic sessions.

You’re welcome to connect with me on Instagram @softentoself, and when you feel ready, simply fill out the contact form to schedule a 15-minute consultation call.

I am looking forward to hearing from you! Thank you for being here.
